Frequently Asked Questions

Why are preserved roses and other flowers expensive?

Preserved flowers especially roses are more expensive than fresh flowers because of the time and effort required to preserve them. The process of drying flowers is delicate and time-consuming, as the flowers must be properly dehydrated and treated with a chemical solution to coat the petals. The petals must be dried slowly at a low temperature to maintain their beauty and texture.

The fresh blooms may last for about eight days before wilting. Preserved flowers require minimal maintenance and care, unlike fresh flowers which need to be pruned and have their vase water changed regularly. The price of preserved flower arrangements may be higher at times, but they have a better value over time because they do not require regular care.

How do you care preserved flowers?

Preserved flowers require minimal maintenance and care. The best thing you can do to care for them is to keep them in a dry environment, out of strong heat or sunlight and avoid damp rooms. Sunlight can cause dried flowers to fade, dry out, and become brittle and fragile. Although they look like fresh flowers, they are not and do not need water. Coming into contact with water may damage them.

Are preserved flowers real?
All Preserved flowers are made of 100% real fresh cut flowers. They aren't made from silk or any other material. Preserved flowers are made by complex processes such as dehydration, decolorization, dyeing and drying. When the process has completed and you have preserved flowers that are flexible and look natural. The process of preserving flowers is vastly different from just drying them.

The rose petals shown on your website look more prominently open, while mine looks tight bud or semi-open bloom? why is that?

The technique is called reflexing in the flower industry. Reflexing roses is a trick to give them a fuller and more open appearance by increasing the size and creating a more prominent focal flower for your floral design.

We don't usually reflex the preserved roses when we dispatch them to prevent a possible damage due to mishandling during the transport by courier. We let the customers have an option to decide how they would like the roses to look.

If you wish to give an appearance of full bloom for your roses, you can follow these steps below.

  1. Hold the rose by the stem and use your fingers to carefully bend the petals downward, away from the bloom's center, without creasing the petals, or you can also use a wooden skewer (use the blunt part of the skewer) to gently bend the petals away from the bloom's center.

  2. Work your way from the outer layers of petals to the inner layers of petals.

  3. Use your fingers to shape the petals to your desired position. Sometimes it helps to gently blow onto the rose to help it open a little more.

  4. Repeat this process for each petal, working your way around the roses.
